Donna Redmond Gates

Donna Redmond Gates is an experienced Board Director, Committee Chair and Board Chair. She leads Redgate’s Governance practice, providing Governance reviews, strategic workplans for boards and committees, CEO evaluations, and succession planning. She has served on numerous boards, including Port Saint John, Horizon Health Network, and the Local Governance Commission of New Brunswick, Junior Achievement of New Brunswick and the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick. She was selected as the Atlantic Canadian Honoree, BMO National Women on Boards Award in 2024 and was named one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Business by Atlantic Business Magazine. Donna is currently completing the Institute of Corporate Directors, Directors Education Program and holds a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University .

Allan Gates

Over decades working in PR and marketing agencies in Canada and the United States, Allan Gates saw firsthand the power of effective personal communications. As the head of Redgate’s Leadership Training practice, he now provides practical training in executive presence, presentation skills, executive narrative strategies, and more. A seasoned agency professional, Allan co-founded Bonfire Communications in Saint John, New Brunswick in 2013 and built it into one of Atlantic Canada’s top agencies. Bonfire was acquired in 2022. He was also the cofounder of media property Huddle.Today, acquired by Acadia Broadcasting Corporation in 2019. Allan taught marketing at the University of New Brunswick Saint John for more than a decade and also taught media relations at Mount Saint Vincent University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Public Relations and Master of Arts in Communication from Mount Saint Vincent University.
